 Test it, use it and
give us feedback as usual we always try to listen.
Naijabons tell us wettin dey  using the WETTING DEY BAR

To me, this is a very powerful feature as it will usher us into building the mobile portal and increase the user activity on the site.
We are working on many more updates in the NETWORK, MUSIC AND ART WORKS segments coming soon. Keep checking.

Once upon a time in the distance land of Africa. Along the
west africa coast. There is a nationa called nigeria. It was a nation
blessed by God with so many riches and wealth. It was a nation of
plenty and abundance. But, alas her leaders are so greedy and selfish
that the nation was such dried.

In this land, called naija, there were so many men of God, Prophect
of old who God sent to warned the people to repent of their evil ways.

The leaders refused to listened, they eat dine and wine, not having
time for God. the nation was left in desolate, where other nation
around her like ghana and south africa were developing, naija was going
down in absolute waste.

Then, one day, the youth of the nation called themselves together
that they have to safe their nation from destruction. They plan to take
back from the leaders who had been so greedy in destroying all the
beauty of the land.

The youths begins to use technology, creating websites like
naijaborn.com and other social network to create goodwill for the
people of the land.

they realised that we need energy in the land, innovations, ideas and other avenue to reach their goals.

Long live Naija, Long live federal republic of naija.

We have been working on some cool features to round up naijaborn.com 1.0 . Read more about some of  the features below:

1) COMMENTS ON ART WORKS AND MUSIC SEGMENT:
The art work and music segment of naijaborn.com holds a very strong part of naijaborn.com talents base. This comments system comes in to help the naijaborn.com community comment on user submitted content further helping them assess themselves and try to do better.

2) NAIJABORN.COM SITE WIDE ACTIVITY
Most users complained that after registration, they didn't have friends or a network so they had no activity feeds and they didn't know what to do. So we decided to implement a SITE WIDE ACTIVITY MODULE that will help new users capture what is hot on the platform while they build their networks of interest. This module displays news feeds of everything that has happened on naijaborn.com from day one(from most recent to oldest). After login, a user will immediately see a tab on the home page labeled "SITE ACTIVITY"( next to INTRODUCING MEMBERS tab), that will lead them to a view of the site wide activity stream. check the image below to figure it out visually.

Thanks for your support and feedback, it helps us shape the future of naijaborn.com

The naijaborn.com module that introduces naijaborn members to the world a.k.a INTRODUCTIONS, formerly displayed only 5 recent members on the home page to the public. To view all members, you had to be logged in. After talking with a couple of users, advisers and having some meetings internally, we decided to make it open to the world.

What are the implications ?

Search engines will get more pages to index and searching Google for a member's name will give results that go to naijaborn.com and further exposing the platform.
The INTRODUCTIONS module shows only brief information about a member for privacy reasons. To view the member's full profile, you must be a registered user and you must login.

What do you think ?
Should we keep it public or make your brief introduction accessible only by members ?
thanks for your answers

Waking up from bed today and checking what is making news online, I stumbled on a blog post from Billzimmerman www.27months.com. He reviewed the naijaborn.com platform and talked of a lot of exciting things. Below is an extract from the blog post and link.

There’s been a lot of buzz in African tech circles lately about Naijaborn.com, a web community for Nigerian residents and diasporans, which entered its public beta on June 1st. The self-funded startup is a partnership between Francis Omokhape Oghuma of Qubestreet (Nigeria and South Africa) and Mambe Nanje Churchill of AfroVisioN Group (Cameroon). Churchill was interviewed on this blog in November of last year....
